Saw this on ieatishootipost
saw this on facebook
saw this in front of me
been there
seen it
ate them all!
I was never really expecting to visit Seventh Heaven
Honestly, i had no image of it in my mind even i had read about it
all i knew was there is this nice adult (alcohol) ice cream somewhere
My friend gave me a surprise
all i know for the evening was, "i'll bring you for ice cream"
after my dinner at the TuckShop
he drove to this ulu little part of MIS (Marketing Institute of Singapore)
i wasnt expecting anything much
like those of Ice Cream Chef and Island Creamery
but heY! a ice cream palour in a school?
thats something new.
Never been to MIS, we wandered around the campus.
we went straight (from the carpark) and came across this cafe.
No no, thats not the store.
as we approach our way to the security guards.
i was like, eh just ask them la
He looked around, saw this humble little store,
with its glass panels nicely printed with christmas white "Seventh Heaven"
We were warmly greeted by Sein and Dee
presented with their ice cream and drinks menu
and hey! this is something different
they dont have milo ice cream, some oreo crunch or green tea.
not those popular favourites
Woo. that was in my mind.
Let me list down what WE HAD (yes just 2 of us)
.in sequence.
(sorry might not be the name as appear in the menu!)
Amedei Chocolate
Warm Chocolater Cake (with Chocolate Whisky)
Peanut Butter (sample scope by courtesy of Sein)
Lemon Granita
Chocolate Whisky
Chocolate Coffee Crunch
Irish Cream Liqueur
Truffle (compliments of Sein)
and last but not least
off menu special "Quick Silver" (compliments of Sein too!)
(for this i didnt manage to ask for the exact spelling of it
so i have to apologize if Sein didnt intented to spell it this way)
so like what all previous bloggers have done about Seventh Heaven
i would like to give my own opinions on this Cosy lil humble icecreamlicious placE! my ratings are based on Seventh Heaven ice creams (the must try ranking) and not as a general guideline comparing to normal ice creams because the others are OUT OF SCOPE! =D
Amedei Chocolate
Being a rather shallow dark chocoholic, i was introduced with Amedei Chocolate, which i have never heard before in my whole life, i was quite interested when Sein told me about it. i was like WAH okay lemme try it.
My first impression was, hey, this is good chocolate. but i think it loses out without the bitterness of cocoa. it also comes with a slice of waffle-like biscuit, smooth and nice texture. Even thou like by the common crowd (as explained by Sein that people actually wanted to buy in grams of the biscuit itself!) it wasnt to my liking. my friend munched it all. greedily. 5.5/7
Warm Chocolater Cake (with Chocolate Whisky)
the cake and the ice cream is separated, and the best thing was we had a choice to change the ice cream with just $1 top up! Being more daring, my friend chose to have chocolate whisky along with it. Sein reminded us that all their cakes are freshly baked, so please endure for 15mins, which we did, and the nice warm cake was so appealing. i guess the cake along gets all the score. no wonder its the hot seller! 7/7
Peanut Butter (sample scope, courtesy of Sein)
Sein was looking at my unfinished Amedei Chocolate, and wondering what was wrong.
explaining that wasnt my cup of "icecream", she recommended me the traditional peanutbutter! i was actually quite surprised by how friendly and generous Sein was and i happily accepted the offer to try it. I bet you can never find such kind of peanutbutter anywhere else. Mild and smooth. 4.5/7
Lemon Granita
I have never imagine what this will look like. This is a drink for goodness. with their speciality vanilla ice cream of course. Dee brought it to us and described to us how she like it. WAITING is a very important process. 10mins is a safe bet. let the ice cream and the icy lemon melt, and POOF! this is one of my favourite. 7/7
Chocolate Whisky
Nothing can goes wrong with alcohol (sorry i'm a alcoholic) . chocolate and whisky goes together perfectly! it melts so fast you have to eat it even fasTer! 6.5/7
Chocolate Coffee Crunch
You like chocolate. You like coffee. You like nuts (dunno what nuts thou).
You will like Chocolate Coffee Crunch. the turn off point is that the nuts are not so crunch-able as they are in small bits. 4.5/7
Irish Cream Liqueur
Alcohol? wont go wrong. Bailey's lover? This is for you! 5/7
Tartufo
You know what did i tell Sein? THIS IS THE BOMB!!! blended generously with cocoa.
i love this! 7/7
"Quick Silver" (courtesy of Sein too!)
Sein surprised us with some really really special. At first she was asking if we would like to try her "something special not in the menu". Well, why not? We felt so privileged and honoured to try it, no matter what it is. Without any expectation in mind... TA DA! a scope of "special" coated with silver, sprayed with gold on the bowl itself. She wasnt expecting to let anyone try this too. I didnt ask if anyone else had tried this, but well, since i was given this chance )THAT NONE OF U IS GOING TO HAVE WHAHAHAHAH. oops sorry i was carried away) i must given my most "professional" opinion.
this is real good for a coconut flavoured ice cream, i've never liked coconut ice creams. Presentation wise i think there is room for improvement but this is a really good attempt i was really very surprised by this surprise from Sein. i'm not sure if this would icecreamilise (materialise) into the menu, but if it does, I hope that everyone (including those who doesnt really like coconut. those who hate it please, forget about it) can try this amazingly smoothing coconut ice cream. 5.5/7
There is actually more flavours that i would like to try, but we are so sinfully full! Mango Vodka, Espresso, and the die die should try Cappuccino. I'll be back at Seventh Heaven again!
This review is especially done up for Sein and Dee for your warm hospitality that my friend and I really enjoyed throughout.
